New Beginnings 2026

Every year, I tell myself that I will write more in the coming year, but reality is that life is as busy as ever, and I never seem to find the time to formulate the thoughts that are floating around in my brain, let alone put them into a blog post that makes sense. This year is no different in that I would like to write more as I feel a little of the fire that Jeremiah felt in his bones (Jeremiah 20:9). Hence, the reason for launching a new blog.

I don’t know how the year will go or how often I will write, but I hope you will bear with me and check back from time to time to see if there are new posts. Regardless, I confess that I write for myself as much as for you, but I know that there is nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9), so no matter what you or I are going through, we are not alone. Remember that when you feel alone or abandoned. You are not.

I was thinking today how nice it is that time is divided into years. God could have created an endless number of days in which there was no new beginning, but we have the blessing of starting over every 365 or so days. Now, every day can also be a new beginning, but the first of the year is a good time to refocus on the future and what God desires for you. What bad habits can you replace with something good? How can you rearrange your schedule to fit in more time with God? Is there someone you should spend more time with this year?

I love the holidays and the end of the year, but there is so much going on that I’m not able to be reflective as I used to be. Therefore, I have started taking time in January, as I’m able, to focus on God and what He would like to speak to me. I encourage you to do the same. Do not let busyness control you, but rather make sure you are controlling your busyness.

Have a blessed 2026, shining with the love of Jesus to all around you!
